Singers in each choral group
study basic musicianship skills including ear training, sight
singing, and vocal technique. Increased attention is given
to the study of the history and theory of music, music of
multi-cultures, and the place of music in our society. Music
is chosen at various levels of difficulty and songs are sung
in many languages. The goal is to introduce high school students
to the pleasures of singing choral literature of many types,
to teach them about balance and blending of voice parts, and
to develop good musicianship skills in preparation for future
music participation at more advanced levels.
